I recently got this IKT headphones from Walmart, after losing my previous ones. I’m writing this review mainly because when trying to decide to buy them for myself I could not find much of a good review besides AI generated ones from comments.
Price
This are currently being priced at 29.59 USD, in my opinion is a very affordable pair of headphones. The walmart posting says they are marked down from 179.99 USD but don’t get fooled by that marketing tactic, this are not “high” end 179.99 dollars that you miraculously found on sale, they had, as far as I know, always been marked at the 30 dollar mark.
Sound Quality
I’m not an audiophile, so take my review with a grain of salt, Sound quality is very good for a 30 bucks device, Bass is ok, is not super bass or something like that, but after adjusting it a bit it sounds decent, I personally would have preferred it to be a bit stronger, but also is really not bad.
The other frequencies as far as I can tell sound clear and balanced. I tried several pieces all the way from jazz, classical, guitar to EDM, pop and rock. All sound pretty decent to me. I have tried other 30 bucks headsets before this and I can say for sure this are the best so far.
Also this have a companion app that lets you equalize the sound output, this is a great feature that definitely lets you match your sound demands to your specific taste.
ANC (Active Noise Cancelling)
The ANC on this is very good, albeit, when no music is playing you can hear a faint hissing. Which is a bit annoying, but when music is playing you don’t hear it at all, and the noise reduction from the environment when the feature is on is very impressive. In my unit however, sometimes when you are setting the headphones in your ears a very short high pitch noise can be heard, not sure if it is due to the headphones rubbing against my fingers, my hair or some other weird edge case that confuse the ANC a bit. However this only happens to me very sporadically and it self correct after a second or two.
Voice calls
The unit lets you answer calls, Audio seems to be clear at least when using it in a room, have not tried them out in the wild on a noisy space so can’t say anything about that specific scenario.
Battery life
They are advertised as having 100 hours battery life, not sure if they last 100 hours, but they certainly last a veeery long time, even with ANC on, which I always have, they stay charged for several days, (so far have not charge them even once).
Ergonomics
I have a slightly bigger head, so, a few of the headsets that I have bought over the years tend to fit me a bit tight, this ones however, fit very comfortable, they are on average a bit roomier than the others I have had. I would go as far as to say this are the comfiest I have had so far.
Companion App
Not much to say here, you can change all settings from it, it works very well, no weird bugs so far. And the equalizing feature is my favorite. It also have a find my device feature that I haven’t used but that is nice to have. Even though the app is not impressive, as I have mentioned before, just for the equalizer feature is totally worth it.
Overal
Good sound quality, great ANC, nice companion app and ergonomics. So for me I would definitely recommend this purchase for 30 dollars. And I am sure you will always be able to find them at that price or lower, so if you see them somewhere else at a higher price. just keep looking.
